technical business manager for hire

IT Analyst - County of Lousia, VA

May 2009 - March 2011

In May of 2009, I made a move to Virginia for both family and professional reasons as my prior company and state succumbed to the economic downturn.  In this role, I utilized my technical background to help contribute to a small team that had a huge task of supporting over 250 end-users, over 500 devices, and critical systems in their 911 dispatch center.  I quickly ramped up my knowledge of their environment and was able to implement new technology to help with efficienies and save money. An example of this was rolling out VMWare to consolidate multiple servers off of older hardware.

Below are some of the main responsibilities during this time:

  • Provided technical support to 250+ end users and 500+ devices

  • Perform administration and organization on Active Directory and Exchange Servers

  • Assisted with contract review, renewal, and RFP responses for projects and tasked with departmental purchasing in accordance to County procurement rules

  • Implemented VMware ESXi servers and consolidated multiple physical servers

  • Installed and setup Blackberry Enterprise Server v5.0

  • Designed initial redundant data backup for disaster recovery at lowest cost possible and submitted for CIP for following fiscal year

  • Taught a variety of computer classes mostly focusing on Microsoft Office products to citizens of Louisa County for the Parks and Recreation department
